The hotel:
The hotel is well located for access to the pistes and lifts with the closest slope just across the road and a 150 m walk to the nearest lift. It is equally well situated for all the amenities of the town, just a short walk to the shops and sports centre.
The Chamois is in the old section of the town known as “vieil alpe” and this traditional feel is carried through the hotel to the rooms which are simple, light and airy, but comfortable with a rustic style. Most of the rooms are en suite and most are south facing, many of them having a balcony. There are a selection of twin rooms, doubles, triples and quads to choose from.
Alpe d’Huez:
Alpe d’Huez is a fantastic all-round resort which provides a friendly and fun atmosphere, albeit in a slightly less ‘traditional’ setting than other resorts.
The skiing in Alpe D’Huez has something for everyone with a total of 245km of ski slopes to keep all levels of skier happy. The high altitude of the mountains, reaching 3330m, pretty much guarantees snow cover in Alpe D’Huez, and it has a better sun record than almost any other resort in the alps. Bonus!
