General Questions:

20days
top

1. What is 20days?
20days is a free-to-join (for now) members club that helps those in their 20s and 30s make the most of only having 20(+) days holiday a year. We bring together loads of similar types of people so that whenever you go away on a 20 Days trip or to a 20 Days event, you know that you'll have a good time, and will probably know a few others there anyway - whether you're with a group of close mates, or on your own.

back

2. What is 20nights?
20nights is here to make the process of looking for luuuuuurve (or just a bit of a laugh) easier; 20nights organise speed dating nights at fab venues such as Mahiki and we PROMISE that they are not cringey at all. Everyone who attends is always surprised at how much fun they have and how they are NEVER stuck for conversation. Get involved - what's the worst that can happen?

back

3. How do I become a member?
Easy. Click on the box on the top right hand side of the home page at www.20days.co.uk and just fill in your details. Soon we will begin charging for membership so get in there quick.

back

4. How do I sign up to your newsletter?
Easy. Click on the box on the top right hand side of the home page at www.20days.co.uk and just fill in your details. We will then send you a newsletter every 2 - 4 weeks telling you what's going on. We keep them short and sweet and full of goss!

back

5. What is the average age of your members?
The average age is about 28 but it ranges from 21 - 38.

back

6. Do I have to live in London to join?
Certainly not - we've even got members who live in Australia (they're begging us to start a branch of 20days there!)

back

7. How much does it cost to join?
Currently it is zilch, zip, zero, nada, nothing. However we will be charging in the future but this will be a nominal fee of around £5 a year only.

back

8. How do I contact you?
Drop us an email at info@20days.co.uk and one of the team will get back to you as soon as possible.

back

9. Why don't you have a phone number listed on your web site?
We're busy little bees at 20days - we live by the 20days ethos which is cram as much adventure into every second of life as possible - you only have one life after all! We are usually in the office during normal office hours but we're also often off climbing mountains, skiing, kite surfing etc which can make answering the phone a little difficult! We all have blackberries and iPhones so an email will get to us just as quickly as a phone call and we will usually be able to reply straight away. If not, we'll get back to you within a couple of days.

Please Note: If you book onto an event we will give you the number of the person hosting that event so if you have any problems on the day you can call them.

back

10. What if I can no longer attend an event I have booked?
Drop us an email and we'll see what we can do to either replace you (with a small loss of deposit/payment) or you can find a friend to take your space and pay the transfer charges.

back

11. What is your refund policy?
We're pretty easy going people so will refund you where we can. But this is totally at our discretion.

back

12. What is your cancellation policy?
We do not officially accept cancellations for events but will do what we can to accommodate you on a case by case basis. For holidays, our cancellation policy depends on which tour operator we're using for that particular trip. The cancellation fees will get higher as you get nearer the date of departure.

back

13. Are tickets transferable?
This is trip/event dependent and time dependent. Please email us for specific details on your event.

back

14. Can I bring a guest(s) to an event?
You certainly can - as long as they go online and buy their tickets or you purchase a ticket for them.

back

15. Do you do private / corporate events?
Yes we do. Because we're a small team we have to evaluate requests on an individual basis and if we think we have the time, contacts and knowledge to make your event fantastic, we'll definitely sort it for you.

Very nice full buffet options for every meal including (but by no means limited to!) fresh fruit, cereals and yogurt or bacon and eggs for breakfast, some lovely salads, cous cous or light snack for lunch and beautiful, locally sourced fresh fish, lobster, steak, chicken, pork and many local dishes with a good vegetarian option available.

back

9. Are drinks included in the all-inclusive deal?
Unfortunately not! Bottled water is included during meal times and fresh juices are included during breakfast. Other drinks are available at the bar.

back

10. What activities are included?
Morning conditions are generally good for water skiing and by the afternoon, the wind usually picks up to a fresh force 4. In light morning winds with our expert tuition, novices will soon be setting sail solo. Afternoons offer exciting and challenging conditions for improvers and adventurous beginners, who will enjoy the wide range of boats and excellent choice of boards for all levels and conditions.

For less confident sailors, there are exhilarating rides with our instructors aboard Dart 16 catamarans or the chance to explore the surrounding coastline by kayak. Alternatively, there is plenty of snorkeling kit for you to borrow and explore the underwater world.

Back on shore, our tennis coach will be offering group sessions to brush up on rusty technique or there is plenty of time to enjoy an informal game. During the cooler hours, join one of our guided bike rides to explore the local area on a variety of routes to suit all abilities, or join in with a fitness class.

There’s always something gentle on offer to appeal to less energetic tastes. Relax by the pool, take a refreshing dip, play a game of boules or indulge in an aroma therapy massage.

Your holiday package includes a try dive (scuba diving) but does not include any extra dives - if you would like to go scuba diving please speak to the scuba diving instructor upon arrival.

back

14. Is there an opportunity to go out into Bodrum?
Of course! You can wonder in on your own or with a group (just let us know) or you can wait until we all go in as a group to check out the local cuisine and nightlife! It is also quite fun to go haggling and see how much you can buy something for even though you don't actually need it - who cares you saved big bucks on the asking price!

back

15. What is the local currency?
Turkish Lira (TRY) is the local currency. It used to be that 10,000,000 lira was equal to about 10 GBP but they have re-structured the lira. However some people in the markets still refer to it at 10 thousand or 10 million - just ignore the thousand or million (unless you are buying a house or sports car!)

1 TRY = 0.450301 GBP   1 GBP = 2.22074 TRY

99% of places in Turkey do accept both GBP and EUR but you will not necessarily get the best exchange rate!

back

16. How much money do I need to take out with me?
This obviously depends if you want to partake in everything and drink until the sun comes up or simply use the hotel and get some sun. Anywhere between £400 to £800pp spending money although you can easily do it a lot cheaper or a lot bigger! It's your call...

back

17. Can I pay for things in GBP or EUR?
99% of places in Turkey do accept both GBP and EUR but you will not necessarily get the best exchange rate!

back

18. Is there a fancy dress night? What is the theme?
There is a fancy dress night! Last year was so much fun and we really managed to turn some heads and get everyone involved. Last year the party was on Friday night and was a Retro Baywatch theme. It will be a similar day and theme - which your host will let you know nearer the time.

back

19. Is it possible to get a triple room?
Yes - if you are travelling in a group of three mates this is not an issue - please let us know when you book (or soon after) so we can check availability with the hotel.

back

20. Is it possible to get a room to myself?
Yes - there is a single room supplement, but if this is something that you would like to do, please email us to find out more information.

1. How many people usually attend this event?
It varies on the venue (due to location and venues capacity) but it ranges from 40 to 80. But don't worry we won't make you sit through 40 dates! It is set up in a way that allows you to date around 15-20 people and the rest of them you can chat to at the after party or buy a drink at the bar...

back

You will see the 20day team wondering round with flashing red batons

back

7. Do we have a break in between our dates?
Yes there is a half time break to get a drink from the bar or pop to the loo or make a phone call etc...

back

8. Do we get to date everyone at the event?
You will get to have about 14 dates, by then you will have the confidence to approach the ones you didn't get to date at the bar. The reason we don't let everyone date everyone is firstly time and secondly dating can be quite exhausting and thirdly everyone is keen for the party to get started.

back

9. What is the mid evening shot?
It is whatever the bar decides to give on the night. Usually a tasty (and alcoholic) mix to give you a bit of dutch courage and help get the party started!

back
